I currently live on a small farm with my wife Michelle. This is the same farm where I was born and raised about 4 miles east of Jordan MN. We have three adult children.
I graduated from Jordan High School and the University of Minnesota. I also completed a Masters degree in Education from the University of Minnesota in 1986, and am only a few credits short of an administrative degree.
I began teaching high school in Montgomery in 1981, and started the Farm Business Management program there on a part time basis beginning in 1984. The FBM portion of my teaching load gradually increased to full time, and I began working for South Central College in Mankato at the time of the State Colleges and Universities merger in 1995.
My teaching load consists of approximately 60 farm families in LeSueur, Rice, Scott, and Carver counties.
My main interest away from work is spending time with my family. We also continue to farm about 100 acres. I also enjoy virtually all sports, playing cards, and spend some time at the horse race track.
