"Beginning Marketing" Webinar Series
--presented by Ron Van Nurden, Minnesota PEP Director (12/11/09 - 4/23/10, 7:30 AM CST)
The Beginning Marketing classes assume you know little or nothing about marketing and the futures market. The course will use hands-on worksheets, so be prepared to do some homework on the worksheets you download. The worksheets are downloaded from the following URL: https://mnscu.webex.com/meet/ron.vannurden. Go to the "Files" tab, "Commodity Marketing", and then the session we are working on.
Most will not use the futures or options in their marketing strategy, but understanding the futures market and its relationship to the cash market will make farmers more aware of what drives the market. Farmers will be better equipped to make marketing decisions because they will recognize the signals the futures market gives them.
The class also emphasizes the psychology of marketing. In the end, this factor has more impact on the market than most other factors.
