About IABME

Why an Institute?

The National Farm & Ranch Business Management Education Association (NFRBMEA) has created the Institute for the purpose of providing initial and continued in-service training for Farm Business Management (FBM) instructors. A grant from The Otto Bremer Foundation has allowed us to turn this dream into a reality.

The Institute for Agricultural Business Management Education is designed for the FBM instructor with 0-5 years of experience. It will present topics important to FBM instructors in which newer instructors may not have adequate training or experience when coming into a FBM position from high school agriculture programs or from industry.

FBM instructors strive to help their farm clients turn information into useful knowledge. Their goal is to help farm businesses understand that information so that they can make informed decisions concerning their farm business.

In that same way, the Institute has been developed to mentor early career FBM instructors so that they are able to lead their farm clients to more profitable businesses with competence and confidence.
